Funky Fruit

For this project, we were challenged with the task of making one part blow molds and given the theme of “uncanny”. All of the individual fruits were made using blow molds, plaster casting molds, or hot sculpted glass. I then painted the fruits in the opposite color of what they naturally are (ie. the orange is now blue and the strawberries are now green). I really enjoyed making this piece because of the backwards realism and extreme detail of the individual pieces.

Pineapple body and apple: one part blow molds

Orange, blueberries, and pineapple top: hot sculpted

Banana and strawberries: kiln casted
